Recombinant Human PLA2G1B /PLA2 Protein (rh PLA2G1B / PLA2) Ala 23 - Ser 148 (Accession # AAI06726) was produced in human 293 cells (HEK293) at ACROBiosystems.
rh PLA2G1B / PLA2 is fused with polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, and has a calculated MW of 15 kDa. The predicted N-terminus is Ala 23. DTT-reduced Protein migrates as 19 kDa in SDS-PAGE .
Less than 1.0 EU per μg of the rh PLA2G1B / PLA2 by the LAL method.
>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in 50 mM Sodium Acetate pH4.5 with 100 mM NaCl. Normally Mannitol or Trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization.

Phosphatidylcholine 2-acylhydrolase 1B (PLA2G1B) is also known as Phospholipase A2 (PLA2), PLA2A, PPLA2, which belongs to the phospholipase A2 family. PLA2G1B is activated by trypsin cleavage in the duodenum and can also be activated by thrombin or autocatalytically. PLA2 catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2-acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides, this releases glycerophospholipids and arachidonic acid that serve as the precursors of signal molecules.
