Human Kallikrein 3, His Tag is fused with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, and has a calculated MW of 27.7 kDa. The predicted N-terminus is Ala 18. The reducing (R) protein migrates as 36 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation.

Kallikrein-3 (KLK3) is also known as Prostate-specific antigen (PSA), APS, Gamma-seminoprotein (Seminin), P-30 antigen, Semenogelase, is a glycoprotein enzyme, is a member of the kallikrein-related peptidase family and is secreted by the epithelial cells of the prostate gland. The preferential cleavage site of KLK3 is “-Tyr-|-Xaa-“, the catalytic activity is inhibited by SERPINA5 and is strongly inhibited by Zn2+. KLK3 hydrolyzes semenogelin-1 thus leading to the liquefaction of the seminal coagulum.
