Background

Reticulocalbin-3 (RCN3) is also known as EF-hand calcium-binding protein RLP49, which belongs to the CREC family. CREC family contains multiple EF-hand Ca2+-binding proteins localized to the secretory pathway. The elective and transient association of RCN3 with the precursor of PACE4 plays an important role in the biosynthesis of PACE4. RCN3 contains six EF-hand domains.
