Human CLIC4 Protein

  • Synonym
    CLIC4,p64H1
  • Source
Human CLIC4, His Tag (CL4-H5141) is expressed from E.coli cells. It contains AA Met 1 - Lys 253 (Accession # AAH12444).
    Predicted N-terminus: Met
  • Molecular Characterization
    CLIC4(Met 1 - Lys 253) AAH12444

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 29.6 kDa. The protein migrates as 25-30 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE).

  • Endotoxin
Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
  • Purity

    >92% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

  • Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Normally trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

Contact us for customized product form or formulation.

  • Reconstitution

Please see Certificate of Analysis for specific instructions.

For best performance, we strongly recommend you to follow the reconstitution protocol provided in the CoA.

  • Storage

For long term storage, the product should be stored at lyophilized state at -20°C or lower.

    Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

No activity loss is observed after storage at:

    1. 4-8°C for 12 months in lyophilized state;
    2. -70°C for 3 months under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
SDS-PAGE
Human CLIC4, His Tag (Cat. No. CL4-H5141) SDS-PAGE gel

Human CLIC4, His Tag on SDS-PAGE under reducing (R) condition. The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue. The purity of the protein is greater than 92%.

  • Background
Chloride intracellular channel protein 4 (CLIC4) ,a member of the chloride channel CLIC family, is also known as intracellular chloride ion channel protein p64H1,which contains one GST C-terminal domain. CLIC4 can insert into membranes and form poorly selective ion channels that may also transport chloride ions. Channel activity depends on the pH. Membrane insertion seems to be redox-regulated and may occur only under oxydizing conditions. Also,CLIC4 can promote cell-surface expression of HRH3, endothelial cell proliferation and regulate endothelial morphogenesis. Furthermore ,CLIC4 has alternate cellular functions like a potential role in angiogenesis or in maintaining apical-basolateral membrane polarity during mitosis and cytokinesis.
