Biotinylated Human HE4 / WFDC2 Protein, His Tag, Avi Tag (Avitag™)

  • Synonym
    HE4, WAP5, WFDC2, EDDM4
  • Source
Biotinylated Human HE4, His Tag, Avi Tag (HE4-H82E4) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Glu 31 - Phe 124 (Accession # Q14508-1).
    Predicted N-terminus: Glu 31
  • Molecular Characterization
    HE4(Glu 31 - Phe 124) Q14508-1

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, followed by an Avi tag.

The protein has a calculated MW of 13.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 19-25 KDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

  • Biotinylation
Biotinylation of this product is performed using Avitag™ technology. Briefly, the single lysine residue in the Avitag is enzymatically labeled with biotin.
  • Biotin:Protein Ratio
The biotin to protein ratio is 0.5-1 as determined by the HABA assay.
  • Endotoxin
Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method.
  • Purity

    >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

  • Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Normally trehalose is added as protectant before lyophilization.

Contact us for customized product form or formulation.

  • Reconstitution

Please see Certificate of Analysis for specific instructions.

For best performance, we strongly recommend you to follow the reconstitution protocol provided in the CoA.

  • Storage

For long term storage, the product should be stored at lyophilized state at -20°C or lower.

    Please avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

No activity loss is observed after storage at:

    1. 4-8°C for 12 months in lyophilized state;

    2. -70°C for 3 months under sterile conditions after reconstitution.

SDS-PAGE
Biotinylated Human HE4, His Tag, Avi Tag (Cat. No. HE4-H82E4) SDS-PAGE gel

Biotinylated Human HE4, His Tag, Avi Tag on SDS-PAGE  under reducing (R) condition. The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue. The purity of the protein is greater than 90%.

  • Background
Human Epididymis Protein 4 (HE4) is also known as WAP four-disulfide core domain protein 2 (WFDC2), Epididymal secretory protein E4, Major epididymis-specific protein E4, Putative protease inhibitor WAP5, is a member of the WFDC domain family. HE4 / WFDC2 is expressed in pulmonary epithelial cells, and was also found to be expressed in some ovarian cancers. The WFDC domain, or WAP Signature motif, contains eight cysteines forming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a protease inhibitor in many family members. HE4 is also a small secretory protein, which may be involved in sperm maturation.
