  • Background
CD23 is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in the regulation of IgE synthesis and pro-inflammatory activities, such as triggering the release of regulatory cytokines TNF, IL-1, IL-6, and GM-CSF by human monocytes [5, 19, 20]. It is expressed by activated B-cells, monocytes, follicular dendritic cells, and subsets of eosinophils and platelets.
