Source

Human Nucleolin, Mouse IgG2a Fc Tag (NUL-H5254) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Val 2 - Glu 710 (Accession # P19338-1).

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a mouse IgG2a Fc tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 103.5 kDa. The protein migrates as 130-150 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 0.1 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

Background

Nucleolin is the major nucleolar protein of growing eukaryotic cells. It is found associated with intranucleolar chromatin and pre-ribosomal particles. It induces chromatin decondensation by binding to histone H1. It is thought to play a role in pre-rR transcription and ribosome assembly. May play a role in the process of transcriptional elongation. Binds R oligonucleotides with 5'-UUAGGG-3' repeats more tightly than the telomeric single-stranded D 5'-TTAGGG-3' repeats.
