  • Background
    Members of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, such as FGF9, are peptide regulatory (signaling) factors that act through distinct tyrosine kinase receptors and are involved in various biological processes during embryogenesis, including implantation, angiogenesis, and morphogenesis. Expression of FGF-9 or glia-activating factor, FGF-10, and FGF-19 was detected in various cancer tissues. In depth investigation indicated that fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) may provide the anti-apoptotic function and be useful as a novel independent marker for evaluating gastric cancer (GC) prognosis.
