Background

CCR8 encodes a G protein-coupled chemokine receptor that guides immune-cell trafficking and is primarily expressed in thymus, spleen, and natural killer cells. As a C-C motif chemokine receptor, it sits at the plasma membrane and membrane surface where it receives chemokine signals and links them to downstream signaling. CCR8 is over-expressed in a variety of tumors, such as breast cancer and lung squamous cancer.
