Source

Human CD8 beta Protein, His Tag (CD8-H52H5) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Leu 22 - Pro 170 (Accession # P10966-1).

Predicted N-terminus: Leu 22

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 18.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 27-33 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

The protein is designed as a dimer.

Endotoxin

Less than 0.05 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>90% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, 0.5 M Arginine, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

Background

CD8B, also named P37 and LEU2, serves as the beta subunit of CD8 molecule with one Ig-like V-type domain. It mainly expresses on cytotoxic T lymphocytes and forms a heterodimer with CD8α. As an essential co-receptor, it cooperates with TCR to recognize MHC class I-restricted antigens on APCs and stabilizes immune cell interactions. The CD8B gene generates multiple spliced variants encoding membrane-bound and secreted isoforms, and participates in T cell activation and cytotoxic immune responses.
