Background

Endothelial cell-selective adhesion molecule (ESAM), is a member of JAM family of immunoglobulin superfamily and consists of one Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain and one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. ESAM is highly expressed in endothelial cells. ESAM can interact with BAIAP1. ESAM can mediate aggregation most likely through a homophilic molecular interaction.
